Giant Company launches GLP-1 store tours in six Pennsylvania locations

The Giant Company is offering one-hour store tours in October at six Pennsylvania locations to help shoppers using GLP-1 medications choose foods rich in protein, fiber, and nutrients. About 11% of U.S. adults currently use GLP-1 medications for weight loss, according to Gallup data.

The tours kicked off on Tuesday and will include tips on preparing foods that pair well with GLP-1s, with participants receiving product samples. The company will also host online classes led by dietitians or pharmacists that cover healthy eating choices and strategies for managing medication side effects. Loyalty points will be awarded to encourage sign‑ups for the online classes.

Grocers have stepped up their efforts to meet the needs of GLP-1 users as the popular medications change grocery-buying patterns and impact sales. For example, Publix began distributing a brochure in June that directs people toward foods that support weight loss.
