Circle acquires Tazapay to boost USDC use in cross-border B2B payments
Circle Internet Group agreed to acquire Singapore-based Tazapay, which processes over $25 billion in annualized payments, with the deal expected to close in 2027 pending regulatory approvals. Tazapay already routes more than 60% of its transaction volume through stablecoins and operates banking connections in over 100 markets.
The acquisition builds on a design partnership that began in 2025, when Tazapay helped shape Circle’s Payments Network. Circle said the combined infrastructure will make USDC a faster, more accessible payment rail across Asia‑Pacific and emerging markets. Regulatory sign‑off from the Monetary Authority of Singapore is required before the transaction can close. The deal also brings Tazapay’s network of more than 60 fintech partners into Circle’s fold, expanding its reach among enterprise clients.
“Stablecoin settlement is becoming core infrastructure in the global economy, and combining USDC with Tazapay’s world-class banking relationships, local payout rails, and institutional customer base will accelerate worldwide USDC adoption,” Jeremy Allaire, co-founder, CEO and chairman at Circle said.
“That gives Circle something it would take years to build from scratch — connections into local payment methods, currencies and regulatory environments, as well as an established base of businesses already moving money internationally. It creates a much more direct route for USDC to be used in real-world cross-border commerce,” Robin Anderson, head of product at Tribe Payments said.
It deepens a relationship that began in 2025. Tazapay served as a design partner for Circle Payments Network.
