Evri pilots robotic parcel hub in Bristol neighbourhood

Evri has launched a pilot of a robotic neighbourhood parcel hub in a pedestrianised area of Bristol, working with Collective Robotics. The trial will run alongside Evri’s existing home delivery, ParcelShop, and locker network to test whether the hub can improve first‑time delivery success.

The hub is situated in Paintworks, a mixed‑use development chosen for its sustainability commitments, clean air zone, and prior use in Evri’s e‑cargo bike trials. Evri will assess whether placing parcels nearer to residents gives customers greater choice, convenience, and control over how they receive their deliveries. The pilot aims to generate insights on user experience and operational efficiency that could inform a wider rollout across similar UK neighbourhoods.

“Technology should make life easier for customers, and that’s exactly what we’re looking to explore through this trial,” Adrian Berry, innovation delivery manager at Evri Group said.

“Our aim at Collective Robotics is to develop technology that works for local communities, not simply technology that is placed in them,” Prof. Sabine Hauert, CEO and co-founder of Collective Robotics said.

Evri has previously tested e‑cargo bike deliveries in Bristol and has been investing considerably in innovation across its delivery network. The Paintworks area was selected because of its long‑lasting sustainability commitments and its status as a clean air zone.
