FTC sends over $100,000 in refunds to 6,205 GOAT customers

The Federal Trade Commission is distributing refund checks or PayPal payments to 6,205 consumers who were harmed by GOAT’s deceptive shipping and refund practices. The payments total more than $100,000, and most recipients must cash paper checks within 90 days.

The refunds stem from a 2024 FTC complaint alleging that GOAT failed to ship priority orders as promised and did not give buyers the option to accept a delay or cancel for a prompt refund. The complaint also said GOAT’s “Buyer Protection” policy lacked a system to honor refunds for inauthentic, incorrect or misdescribed items, often denying or only partially refunding claims. As part of a 2025 settlement, GOAT already returned more than $736,000 to affected customers. Consumers with questions can contact the refund administrator, JND Legal Administration, at 1-888-970-2410 or visit the FTC website for FAQs.

In 2024, the FTC filed a complaint accusing GOAT of violating its Mail, Internet or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule by not honoring shipping promises and refund options. In 2025, GOAT settled the case by directly refunding over $736,000 to customers before the FTC began issuing the current payments.
