Stripe extends stablecoin cards to 100 countries by year-end
Stripe announced on September 30 that it will make its stablecoin‑linked cards available in 100 countries by the end of 2026. This expands the current partnership, which covered 18 nations, to a global rollout across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Stripe’s stablecoin card offering combines its issuing business, which has shipped more than 400 million cards since 2018, with the Bridge infrastructure it acquired in 2024. The cards are described as completely stablecoin‑agnostic and blockchain‑agnostic, allowing customers to mix and match their preferred networks. Through the Visa‑Bridge partnership, transactions can be settled on‑chain while still using the Visa brand. OUSD, a money‑movement stablecoin announced on June 30, was made live on September 30 and added to the roster of stablecoins available on Stripe’s platform. Businesses and FinTech developers can use the same integration to offer stablecoin‑backed Visa cards in the newly supported countries.
“In this new role, I will be helping set Stripe’s priorities in the space and build (what we hope to be) the very best stablecoin developer platform: one that is open and complete, modular and cohesive, global by default,” Stern, CEO and co-founder of Privy said.
In March, Visa said it was expanding its partnership with Stripe‑owned Bridge to extend the global card issuance product launched in 2025. At that time, the partnership covered 18 nations and the companies planned to reach over 100 countries by year‑end.
