Fake FedEx drivers steal $680,000 electronics load from New Castle warehouse
On Sept. 14, two men posing as FedEx employees picked up a $680,000 electronics shipment from a New Castle, DE, warehouse using fraudulent documents. Delaware State Police arrested Dushatdaman Parihar, 35, of Manteca, CA, the next day and recovered the intact trailer at a Newark parking area.
The suspects presented driver’s licenses and shipping paperwork that described the electronics as valued above $680,000, then hooked the trailer to their tractor‑trailer cab and drove away. After the business realized the documents were fake, it located the trailer at University Plaza in Newark and alerted police. When officers arrived, Parihar approached the vehicle and was found with false credentials and a fraudulent registration plate. Police returned the untouched trailer and its cargo to the warehouse and charged Parihar with multiple felonies, setting a $66,550 secured bond at his arraignment.
“Detective S. Marioni accepts information at 302-365-8388,” Detective S. Marioni said.
The case began with a pickup near Wilmington, DE. Investigators connected the scheme to fraudulent identification, shipping records and a false registration plate.
