FedEx Freight names Mike Rodgers chief commercial and technology officer
FedEx Freight appointed Mike Rodgers as chief commercial and technology officer effective immediately, less than two weeks after terminating Mike Lyons from the chief specialized services and commercial officer role. Rodgers brings over 30 years of digital strategy experience, having led technology at Pilot Company from 2015 to 2024. He had served as FedEx Freight’s chief technology officer since joining the company in June 2025.
Rodgers will oversee technology, commercial strategy, customer experience and marketing. He was instrumental in FedEx Freight’s information-technology separation from FedEx during the spinoff, which included building a new LTL-specific freight pricing platform. The appointment follows the departure of Mike Lyons, who held the chief specialized services and commercial officer role.
“Mike has a deep understanding of our customers and a strong track record of creating customer, business, employee, and shareholder value, which has been built over decades,” John Smith, President and CEO said.
“His leadership, commitment to our culture, and strong relationships across the organization, combined with his broad commercial and operational experience, will help us accelerate and unlock further value as we continue to execute our strategy in the years to come,” John Smith, President and CEO said.
Prior to the appointment, FedEx Freight terminated Mike Lyons from the chief specialized services and commercial officer role. Rodgers had been serving as the company’s chief technology officer since he joined in June 2025.
