Shein opens 737,000-square-foot Indiana warehouse after Hong Kong IPO
Shein opened a 737,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Lebanon, Indiana, less than two weeks after its Hong Kong IPO. The facility pushes Shein’s total Indiana footprint beyond 2.5 million square feet. The Hong Kong IPO valued the company at close to $26.5 billion.
The heavily automated warehouse will handle order processing and shipping for Shein’s U.S. customers, supporting the company’s goal of a more agile fulfillment network. Shein said the site will create hundreds of new jobs and adds to its existing 1,300 employees already working in Indiana. The company noted it expects the location to underpin future growth while improving overall fulfillment capabilities. Shein established its Indiana operations in 2022 and has since expanded the state into a hub for its U.S. distribution network.
“Shein’s continued investment in Indiana reflects our commitment to building a more agile, resilient and innovative fulfillment network while creating economic opportunities in the communities where we operate,” George Chiao, U.S. president for Shein said.
Shein launched its IPO in Hong Kong at the beginning of September after several attempts to go public in the U.S. and London. The Hong Kong IPO valued Shein at close to $26.5 billion, below its earlier private valuation of $100 billion in 2022.
