Hapag-Lloyd raises 2026 profit outlook by over $1bn after strong peak season

Hapag-Lloyd raised its 2026 profit outlook by more than $1bn after a strong, elongated container shipping peak season this year, according to an investor note yesterday. The company upgraded its full-year EBITDA guidance to a range of $3.9bn to $4.4bn, up from the previous $2.7bn-$3.7bn forecast.

The upward revision adds over $1bn to Hapag-Lloyd's projected earnings for 2026. The strong, elongated container shipping peak season this year drove the earnings increase. The investor note that disclosed the upgrade was published yesterday.

Gemini Cooperation partners Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd plan to reroute their Asia-Med Loop 1 next month. Gemini's second Asia-Med service has returned to the Suez route as CMA attempts to prop up rates.
