Inside Retail Asia launches Brand Conviction Index ranking 100 Asian retailers

Inside Retail Asia released the Brand Conviction Index on September 29, 2026, ranking 100 retail brands across Asia. The index is based on more than 70,000 consumer interviews across 11 Asian markets and 12 months of YouGov BrandIndex data collected up to May 31, 2026.

The index measures three dimensions across the total consumer population: current buyers, those who would recommend the brand, and those who intend to buy it next time. Rolex achieved the highest brand conviction rating, with Stockdill noting that many who recommend or plan to own the watch cannot yet afford it. JD and Flipkart completed the top three, while Shopee led in multiple Southeast Asian markets. The full list of the top 100 retailers and the top 10 in each market surveyed are available online.

“The Brand Conviction Index tells you something more commercially important by showing which brands consumers truly believe in and how far that belief extends beyond their current customers,” Robert Stockdill, global head of news, Inside Retail Asia said.

“Decisions that once involved hours or days of browsing can now move from discovery to purchase within a single conversation,” Oliver Tan, MD of Rezolve Ai – Apac said.

The Brand Conviction Index is described as the first independently verified ranking of Asia’s most believed‑in retailers. The report is presented by Rezolve Ai, with KPMG serving as an insights partner.
