Adobe Firefly data shows low‑rise silhouettes up 365% as Y2K styles surge

Adobe Firefly analyzed AI‑generated prompts before and after New York Fashion Week, finding that consumer interest in low‑rise silhouettes jumped 365 percent. Interest in micro shorts rose even more sharply, increasing 750 percent over the same period.

Baby tees saw a 415 percent increase in prompts, while halter tops rose 260 percent and tube tops 235 percent. In beauty, prompts for graphic eyeliner and straight brows climbed approximately 450 percent year‑over‑year, and dark‑lip interest grew 400 percent. Plastic bag charms increased 300 percent this season, and beaded versions rose 290 percent, mirroring a seasonal lift for charm bracelets from September through December.

“Y2K fashion continues to have a strong influence, with growing interest in low-rise silhouettes (up 365 percent) and pieces like micro shorts (up 750 percent), baby tees (up 415 percent), halter tops (up 260 percent), tube tops (up 235 percent) and capris (up 160 percent),” Deborah Findling, creative AI trends expert at Adobe said.

The team at Adobe Firefly, a web application built on generative AI models that lets users create images, audio, videos and designs using text prompts, analyzed prompts before and after New York Fashion Week to reveal consumer trends. The software company also looked at trends from creators on Firefly’s Virtual Try On app.
