Costco expands nationwide same-day delivery via Uber and DoorDash

Costco announced on Wednesday and Thursday that it now offers nationwide same-day delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash, covering nearly 600 warehouses on Uber and almost 630 stores across 47 states and Washington, D.C. Uber One members can have delivery fees waived on grocery and retail orders over $60, while DoorDash’s marketplace previously served Costco only in Puerto Rico.

Shoppers can place orders for groceries, household goods, electronics, and Kirkland Signature items via the Uber Eats or DoorDash apps, choosing either on‑demand or scheduled delivery. To use the service, customers select a Costco location in the app, add items to their cart, link their Costco membership at checkout and pick a delivery window. Uber also offers a limited‑time option to buy a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats, plus discounted Uber gift cards and savings on Uber One subscriptions.

“By pairing Costco’s quality, value and selection with DoorDash’s reach and local delivery network, we’re giving members more flexibility in how they shop. The US launch also marks the next chapter in a global partnership already serving Costco members around the world,” Mike Goldblatt, DoorDash enterprise partnerships vice-president said.

“Costco is one of the largest and most trusted retailers in the country for good reason, and our nationwide partnership demonstrates the scale and opportunity Uber can bring to retailers looking to meet more of consumers’ everyday shopping needs,” Andrew Macdonald, Uber president and COO said.

Costco’s work with Uber commenced in 2021 with a delivery pilot in 25 locations across Texas. In 2024, Uber announced it was expanding its partnership with Costco in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Japan, but did not specify which or how many locations the expansion covered in those countries. Instacart has long been the go-to for Costco e-commerce in the U.S., with their partnership dating back to 2017.
