Fleek survey shows 28% of resellers work full time, a third aim to do so

Fleek’s survey of 339 resellers in 22 countries found that 28% treat reselling as their main job and another 33% are working toward full‑time status. Among those selling over five years, 53% are full time, while only 14% of newcomers under six months reach that level.

Forty‑one percent of respondents said they had quit at least one selling platform in the past year, and among UK and EU sellers 79% named Vinted as their top earner. Twenty‑seven percent already sell through live video and 29% plan to start, with 79% of regular live sellers saying it outperforms standard listings. Nearly two‑thirds source stock from charity or thrift shops, 39% look for inventory weekly, and 30% cite sourcing as their most frustrating task, just behind the 33% who dislike photographing and listing. Forty‑four percent are interested in buying liquidation stock though only 16% do so regularly, and the EU’s July 19 ban on destroying unsold apparel may eventually boost resale supply.

“If you’re selling across multiple platforms, going live regularly and paying your bills with resale, you can’t rely on finding the right stock in a charity shop at the weekend,” Abhi Arora, co‑founder and CEO of Fleek said.

“You need reliable access to inventory and better information about what people actually want,” Abhi Arora, co‑founder and CEO of Fleek said.

Fleek, which sells wholesale secondhand clothing to resellers, noted a commercial interest in the growing demand for liquidation stock. The European Union’s ban on destroying unsold apparel, clothing accessories and footwear began applying to large companies on July 19.
