Google Cloud offers Gemini agent for enterprise Workspace users

Google Cloud launched a universal Gemini agent for enterprise Workspace users that runs in Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Calendar. It can respond to queries, perform knowledge tasks, generate images and media, and write and execute code.

It is secured through identity and policy management, authorization and permission controls, and secure sandboxing and network gateways, and includes cost controls via multi-model orchestration, Smart Routing, and real-time spend caps. The agent can securely connect to a user’s company software and any Model Context Protocol server, use custom skills added by the user, and learn from each interaction. Industry‑specific agents for financial services and legal are now in preview, with government, healthcare, and retail versions planned for release soon.

In April, Google Cloud unveiled the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform as a unified system for building, connecting, securing, and governing AI agents. In August it said it had agentic AI solutions for financial services and legal in preview, positioning them as the first in a series of industry‑specific offerings.
