Iceland launches rapid grocery delivery in 17 London stores ahead of Christmas
Iceland has launched its Rapid Online Delivery service in 17 London stores ahead of the Christmas trading period. The service will expand to more than 200 stores across the UK before Christmas, starting with a wider London rollout from 19 October and reaching Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool from 26 October.
Customers can place orders through Iceland’s website or app, with delivery promised within an hour and some orders arriving in as little as 30 minutes. Iceland is offering free delivery on Rapid orders during the launch period to encourage trial. The service requires a minimum spend of £15 and excludes some large or bulky products. Orders are picked and packed by participating Iceland stores and handed to third-party delivery partners, allowing shoppers to track their order after dispatch.
“We understand that food plans can change at the drop of a hat. Whether it’s forgotten essentials for dinner, snacks for the kids’ packed lunches, or a craving you have to satisfy, shoppers can order with confidence knowing they can get what they need delivered at speed. That’s why we’ve launched our Rapid Online Delivery service, offering customers delivery within an hour,” Iceland spokesperson said.
Iceland already offers a nationwide next-day delivery service that is free on orders of £40 or more. Earlier this year, Iceland expanded its partnership with Amazon to make groceries available in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Nottingham.
