Meta unveils AI‑enhanced ad tools and Shopify checkout at Advertising Week

Meta announced a suite of AI‑powered advertising updates and new direct‑checkout features at its Advertising Week presentation in New York today. The updates give the business assistant more memory and agentic functions, expand Ads Creative Studio to additional advertisers, and enable Shopify buyers to complete purchases without leaving Messenger.

The business assistant now incorporates creative insights, retains context from prior quarters, and can generate creative assets, adjust targeting, or modify budgets via conversational prompts. Meta is also testing importing tools that let brands upload their strategy and brand‑voice guidelines to further refine the assistant’s outputs. Agentic capabilities added to the assistant allow it to create ad elements, change audience targeting, and alter an ad’sbudget through natural‑language commands. Scheduled tasks such as recurring performance reports and alerts are being tested to keep advertisers informed of potential issues. Ads Creative Studio, which uses performance data and audience insights to highlight what’s working in campaigns, is being rolled out beyond selected ad partners to a broader set of brands. The studio provides AI guidance on how to tap into those insights and now lets marketers generate video concepts from static assets, edit hooks, audio, length, overlays, and end scenes. Meta has expanded its Meta Ads MCP server to support more use cases, allowing advertisers to integrate third‑party AI tools for campaign building and management. Customer Lifecycle Strategy is now available to all advertisers, enabling them to set a top‑level audience focus that guides all campaign recommendations. New AI‑powered video tools let users create video from catalog listings and add related‑product recommendations for upselling. Meta is working with Shopify to enable direct purchases of Shopify products inside Messenger via the Meta Business Agent. Similar AI‑driven checkout tests are underway for Meta AI with Adyen, PayPa
