Amazon lets U.S. merchants add free Prime delivery to their sites at no extra cost
Amazon now lets U.S. merchants add fast, free Prime delivery to their own websites at no extra cost, with setup 70% faster on average than enabling standalone Buy with Prime. Early adopters have seen over 40% of their eligible orders shipped with Prime delivery.
Merchants can enable the option through the Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime app for Shopify, or via Amazon's Selling Partner API and upcoming integrations with partners like Fulfil, LingXing, and WebBee. When shoppers select Prime delivery at checkout, Amazon verifies their Prime membership and fulfills the order from the merchant's inventory using its logistics network. Order confirmation and tracking are provided directly by the merchant, while the Prime badge appears on product pages to signal the benefit.
“Since enabling it, we've seen a nearly 10% increase in sales, orders go out in about a day and a half, and ‘where is my order?’ inquiries have nearly disappeared,” Gabriella Luksander, general manager at Skinnies Instant Lifts said.
Merchants can turn it on in minutes, with setup 70% faster on average compared to enabling standalone Buy with Prime, and no changes to payments processing, order management, or store policies. Merchants who use Amazon's fulfillment network to ship orders from their own websites can now offer their shoppers something new at checkout: fast, free Prime delivery.
