Colruyt Group confirms exclusive talks with Carrefour over Codifrance sale

Colruyt Group confirmed it is in exclusive negotiations with Carrefour over a potential sale of its French wholesale subsidiary Codifrance. Carrefour is reportedly considering offering 155 million euros for Codifrance, though no guarantee exists that an agreement will be reached.

Codifrance supplies dry goods, fresh products, and frozen foods to more than 800 affiliated stores under its own brands—Panier Sympa, Épi Service, and VivÉco—as well as the licensed brands Coccinelle and Coccimarket. It also serves roughly 2,200 independent retailers across about three-quarters of France. After acquiring Degrenne Distribution in July 2023, Codifrance’s revenue reached approximately 310 million euros in the 2025/26 fiscal year, while Colruyt had already sold its French integrated retail operations several months earlier.

Earlier rumors of a possible sale were dismissed by the companies as a rumor, but Colruyt Group later confirmed it is in exclusive negotiations with Carrefour regarding the sale of its French subsidiary Codifrance. Colruyt Group had previously sold its French integrated retail operations several months before these talks began.
