DoorDash launches Dasher Returns and adds five new retailers to its marketplace

On Sept. 29, DoorDash launched its Dasher Returns service in select cities and announced a nationwide rollout for November. The company expects Dasher Returns to be available for 80% of the retail orders it handles by the end of 2026.

For a flat fee, DoorDash will pick up a customer’s return at home and deliver it to the merchant’s store for processing. Once the item is back in stock, the store can resell it quickly and issue the refund in days rather than weeks. DoorDash also added Anthropologie, North Face, Timberland, Vans and Macy’s to its marketplace app, making their products searchable for same‑day delivery. Macy’s said its full catalog will be available inside the DoorDash Marketplace app and that DoorDash will join its 100th Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 26.

“Starting today, we’re launching Dasher Returns,” Shanna Prevé, chief revenue officer at DoorDash said.

“Now, today we are announcing that the Macy’s catalog will be available from within the DoorDash Marketplace app,” Josh Janos, vice president of marketplaces and digital partnerships at Macy’s said.

Earlier this year, DoorDash began delivering Costco orders in the U.S. and tested drone delivery with Lowe’s and Wing. Macy’s had been using DoorDash for white‑label same‑day and next‑day fulfillment since 2020 for orders placed through its website and apps.
