Finmid secures €17m Series A extension, total funding hits €52m

Finmid raised €17 million in a Series A extension, lifting total funding to €52 million. The capital will fund asset‑finance products, underwriting upgrades and a first‑time move into vehicle and marketplace loans with Bolt and Skroutze.

Finmid is Berlin‑based and provides the financing technology behind Wolt, Delivery Hero and myPOS. The new €17 million round was led by Big Pi Ventures and Mainset, with Earlybird also joining the investment. The proceeds will be directed toward expanding finmid’s asset‑finance product suite. Part of the funding will upgrade the company’s multi‑source funding infrastructure. Another portion will strengthen finmid’s underwriting capabilities to support larger loan sizes. The capital also enables finmid to launch vehicle‑finance offerings for fleet operators, starting with Bolt. Additionally, the money backs marketplace‑backed loans, allowing platforms such as Skroutze to lend their own capital to merchants. This round marks finmid’s first funding event since its €23 million Series A closed in April 2024. The extension brings finmid’s total funding to date to €52 million. Investors highlight finmid’s traction in southeast Europe as evidence of untapped market opportunity. Finmid’s founders say the company’s purpose is to deliver credit that is safe, fast and regulated for any business need.

“Two years ago, embedded lending meant a cash advance for a restaurant. Today the same rails carry a multi-year vehicle loan, a marketplace's own balance sheet, and the potential for more. Every platform with business customers now has a way to become their financing partner without becoming a bank,” Alexander Talkanitsa, Co-founder said.

“Small businesses have never lacked ambition - they've lacked a lender who could see them. Platforms, with their live and embedded view of the businesses they power, are uniquely placed to fill that gap, and finmid exists to make it happen. With Bolt we're financing the cars that fleets run on; with Skroutz the
