Heal’s appoints former Liberty managing director Sarah Coonan as CEO effective 1 October 2026
Heal’s has named Sarah Coonan, formerly managing director at Liberty, as its new chief executive, with her start date set for 1 October 2026. Coonan spent over 15 years at Liberty after a four‑year stint at Harrods, and she succeeds Hamish Mansbridge, who is stepping down after 11 years as CEO.
Mansbridge joined Heal’s in 2015 and during his tenure led the refurbishment of the Tottenham Court Road flagship, expanded the retailer’s regional store base and grew its digital channel. He also oversaw the Heal’s Discovers programme, which supports established and emerging design talent. Heal’s, which has been designing, making and selling furniture for more than two centuries, recently launched its AW26 ‘Modern Heirlooms’ collection across stores and online. Coonan said she feels privileged to join a brand with a rich history and looks forward to building on its foundations while evolving it for the next generation of customers.
