Polybion expands Celium biomaterial into everyday products beyond runway
Polybion’s Celium sheet material appeared in three looks from designer Patricio Campillo’s spring 2027 collection shown at New York Fashion Week. The material is now being tested in custom menu covers for Siari Ritz‑Carlton Reserve restaurants, made‑to‑order lamps from Natural Urbano, and cardholders for energy firm Sujío.
Celium is offered in two versions: the translucent, lightweight Manto and the denser, more tactile Espumante. Both versions can be cut, shaped and integrated into products such as leather‑like accessories, lighting fixtures and packaging. Polybion says the biomaterial is positioned as a substitute for leather, synthetic leather and coated textiles in consumer goods.
Before these trials, Polybion’s Celium had mainly been featured on fashion runways, most recently in a New York Fashion Week presentation. The material’s earlier use focused on apparel rather than objects subject to repeated handling.

Mexican design studio Natural Urbano has meanwhile incorporated Celium Manto into its made-to-order Cenit pendant and table lamps, pairing it with natural ash and stainless steel.
A separate suspended lamp called Lomo, inspired by the textile placed between a horse and saddle, is available in Manto and Espumante.
Polybion has also produced Celium cardholders for Mexican energy company Sujío.
