KISAH raises ₹35.9 Cr to scale retail footprint

KISAH raised ₹35.9 Cr in a Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures. The round values the Kolkata-based menswear brand at around ₹211 Cr post-money. Cofounder Yash Sarawagi said the funds will help create retail playbooks, with franchisees financing further expansion.

The startup intends to use the capital primarily to expand its retail network, while also investing in supply chain, warehousing, technology and backend infrastructure to support omnichannel operations. Prior to this round, KISAH had raised around ₹10 Cr from angel investors such as Wow! Momo founder Sagar Daryani and Salarpuria Group's Apoor Salarpuria, who also contributed strategic guidance. The brand, founded in 2018 by Yash Sarawagi, now operates 12 stores across Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam, with the Kolkata Gariahat outlet generating ₹45-50 lakh in its first partial year and about ₹70 lakh annually. KISAH reports FY26 revenue of ₹65 Cr with an EBITDA margin of 5-6% and targets ₹100 Cr revenue in FY27, implying about 70% growth, while projecting the offline business to grow four-fivefold and contribute 25-30% of total sales.

“We are learning retail right now. We've had very good positive early signs for us. The idea is that we are using this money to create our playbooks, and then the retail expansion is something which should be funded by franchisees,” Yash Sarawagi, cofounder said.

KISAH began as a marketplace-led brand before launching its own D2C platform and opening physical stores. The company's first offline store opened in Kolkata's Gariahat in 2025, generating ₹45-50 lakh in its partial year and about ₹70 lakh annually thereafter. Prior to the Series A, the startup had secured roughly ₹10 crore from angel investors including Wow! Momo's Sagar Daryani and Salarpuria Group's Apoor Salarpuria.
