Ramp veterans raise $25 million for AI creative platform Melius

Ramp veterans Joowon Kim, Young Kim, and Arnav Ramu announced on Oct. 6 that they have raised $25 million for their AI creative platform Melius. The financing will support expansion of Melius’s platform, which lets users generate images, videos and ad campaigns using AI agents. Joowon Kim, Young Kim and Arnav Ramu previously worked as engineers at the spending/finance software company Ramp.

After six months of building an AI-powered performance marketing tool, the team decided the idea lacked traction and scrapped the entire codebase. Melius now offers a set of AI agents that handle tasks such as adjusting lighting so users can focus on creative direction. The platform targets people who want to move from concept to finished creative assets without a steep learning curve.

“Transitioning from wanting to make something to actually making it has never been seamless,” Joowon Kim, Co-Founder said.

“We scrapped the entire codebase; we burned all of it,” Joowon Kim, Co-Founder said.

Before raising the $25 million, the founders had spent six months developing an AI-powered performance marketing tool that they ultimately abandoned. They then shifted focus to building a platform for creating images, videos and ad campaigns using AI agents.
