Waitrose adds 10,000 extra delivery slots for Dec 20‑24 Christmas period
Waitrose said it will make 10,000 extra delivery slots available for the period December 20 to 24. The move follows an 11 per cent rise in Waitrose’s online sales during the first six months of the year. Customers can book those slots via the Waitrose app starting 30 September.
Waitrose said the additional slots will let more households secure their preferred delivery window in the lead‑up to Christmas Day. Shoppers can choose from a range of flexible delivery dates throughout the main festive week. Searches for Christmas Cake Kit on the Waitrose website increased by 540 per cent over the past month.
“We know how important Christmas is to our food-loving customers, and getting their festive food shop booked early brings real peace of mind,” Laura Burbedge said.
Earlier this year Waitrose added extra delivery slots for the World Cup tournament. The retailer also reported an 11 per cent increase in online sales in the first six months of 2026.
