SupplyOne acquires Chicago-area Packaging Design Corporation for its 49th deal

SupplyOne bought Packaging Design Corporation, a family-owned maker of custom corrugated packaging in Burr Ridge, Illinois, adding e-commerce boxes and retail store displays to its portfolio. The acquisition is SupplyOne’s 49th deal since 1998 and its second in the Chicago area, following its purchase of Wertheimer Box late last year. Financial terms were not disclosed and incumbent owner Scott Jones will remain in charge of the business.

SupplyOne operates more than 60 locations across North America.

Packaging Design Corporation was founded in 1968 and has supplied e-commerce and subscription boxes, branded retail packaging, and in-store displays to customers throughout the Midwest and beyond.

The company’s existing network of facilities will now integrate PDC’s manufacturing capabilities.

SupplyOne expects the acquisition to broaden its product range for online retailers seeking custom packaging solutions.

PDC’s Burr Ridge facility will continue to serve its current customer base while supporting SupplyOne’s regional distribution.

The deal follows SupplyOne’s strategy of consolidating regional packaging providers to strengthen its market position.

SupplyOne’s prior Chicago-area acquisition was Wertheimer Box, purchased late last year. Before this deal, SupplyOne had completed 48 acquisitions dating back to 1998.
