Target launches digital holiday catalog with handwritten wish‑list scanner

Target launched a digital holiday kids catalog on Monday that features around 500 toys, games and gifts and lets shoppers scan handwritten wish lists into the Target app. The catalog also highlights over 1,000 toys priced under $10 and includes a curated list of 50 exclusive Bullseye’s Top Toys.

Shoppers can double‑tap any item in the digital catalog to save it to a wish list or add it directly to their online cart, and then share that list with others. Each page of the printed holiday catalog carries a unique QR code that, when scanned, opens the corresponding page in the digital version. Target is simultaneously cutting prices on about 2,000 home, apparel and accessories items, building on earlier spring reductions of roughly 3,000 products. The retailer reported quarterly net sales of $26.5 billion, up 5.3% year over year, and net earnings that rose more than 100% to nearly $1.9 billion. The digital catalog also includes video demonstrations and product reviews that users can watch before saving items.

Target has been working to regain merchandising authority as it undergoes a turnaround, recently reducing prices on about 2,000 home and apparel products after earlier spring cuts of around 3,000 items. The company also reported strong quarterly results, with net sales growing 5.3% to $26.5 billion and earnings increasing over 100% to nearly $1.9 billion, and it released a Bullseye’s Top Toys list of 50 exclusive items.
