The Iconic names Sue Wood as chief operating officer effective October 1
Online fashion retailer The Iconic has appointed Sue Wood as its new chief operating officer, with the role starting October 1, after she joined the company in 2022 as director of fulfilment operations. She previously led fulfilment at Catch.com.au and held senior operations roles at Coles Group, Real Pet Food and Sainsbury UK, succeeding Rostin Javadi, who leaves after four years as COO and 14 years with the Global Fashion Group.
As COO, Wood will oversee the company’s fulfilment network, including the Yennora warehouse and the order and warehouse management systems transitioned in 2024. The Iconic reported a 3 per cent rise in revenue and a 53 per cent increase in EBITDA for the fiscal first half, indicating strong recent performance. Rostin Javadi will remain with the business through the end of December to support the transition. Wood will also work closely with the technology and merchandising teams to align fulfilment capabilities with product launches and seasonal peaks.
“Sue is a highly experienced and widely respected leader, both within The Iconic and the broader retail industry,” Jere Calmes, CEO said.
“Her operational expertise, deep understanding of our fulfilment network and commitment to our people make her exceptionally well placed to lead the next chapter of The Iconic’s operations,” Jere Calmes, CEO said.
Before Wood’s appointment, Rostin Javadi served as COO for four years, during which he oversaw the scaling of the Yennora fulfilment centre and led the 2024 transition of the company’s order and warehouse management systems. He also helped the business adapt to changing retail demand and delivery innovations before deciding to pursue his next professional chapter.
