TikTok launches global ad network to tap nearly 400k apps
TikTok launched its global TikTok Ad Network (TTAN) to U.S. advertisers at Advertising Week New York, offering access to nearly 400,000 premium apps worldwide. The move aims to capture more of advertisers’ budgets by extending TikTok’s audience data beyond its own app, a shift the company says could lift U.S. ad revenue from $14.12 billion last year to a projected $17.69 billion by the end of 2026.
TikTok enters a crowded field where Google’s Display Network and AdMob, Meta’s Audience Network, Amazon DSP, and LinkedIn’s audience network already let advertisers run campaigns across third‑party inventory. Advertisers say the offering could lower CPMs and improve ROAS, but only if TikTok provides clear whitelist or blacklist controls and can prove it reaches audiences unavailable elsewhere. Industry experts note that the network’s value hinges on TikTok’s ability to deliver transparent reporting and measurable performance gains over existing options.
“That does have its advantages, but leveraging the same tactical and creative algorithms with a wider ad inventory off of TikTok would give brands more reason to increase share of wallet (if it works),” Bryce Hamlin said.
“TikTok’s signal is one of the strongest in the market, and carrying that signal off-platform — especially to retarget engaged users on longer purchase paths — could be a real performance opportunity,” Zea Hirsh said.
Before this launch, advertisers could already extend campaigns beyond single platforms using Google’s Display Network and AdMob, Meta’s Audience Network, Amazon DSP and LinkedIn’s audience network. TikTok’s entry into this space means it must differentiate its offering to win budget from those established networks.
